JULY 7

Overnight Flight to Keflavik Airport.) Get as much rest as possible, you are going to need it.

JULY 8

Arrive in Iceland / Walk the Volcano

We will be greeted at the Arrival Hall at Keflavik Airport by our driver and the adventure is on. First stop is a hike to the active Geldingadal Volcano by Fagradalsfjall (the one in the news). We hike about 2 miles to the base of the Volcano and get about an hour to watch Mother Nature make new land. It is indescribable to watch the lava streams continuously grow and push the lava field further and further.

Dinner and overnight in smack downtown Reykjavik

JULY 9

Valley of Thor / Mountain Hideaway 4x4

The morning starts early again, despite the fact that someone might have had a late night downtown :-)

Trucking this time in our Monster 4x4 Vans over in the Hellisheidi moore towards Hveragerdi hot spring town, through the south western lowlands to Seljalandsfoss. Make sure you have your hikers on, we are going to sprint behind the waterfall, get sprayed by the mist and say "hi" to the local elves. And then, again we leave behind the mere mortals and onto the 4x4 track into the Game of Thrones landscape of Þorsmork, aptly named after Thor the Viking-God of Thunder. We will try to stop at the slot canyons at Fjadrargil if weather and time allows before we start crossing over glacial rivers and rocky river beds on the way to the heart of the valley. This tour is like no other. Here you get a taste of Iceland off the main road and experience some of the last wilderness left in Europe.

Awesome sampling dinner of Icelandic cuisine and overnight in Downtown Reykjavik, where the party will be picking up throughout the night.

JULY 10

Glacier Snowmobiling & Super Jeep

Starting the day off early, our Super Jeep picks us up at our swanky downtown hotel and off we go - straight out of the city. Our first stop on the adventurous variation of the Golden Circle tour is Þingvellir National Park, the original site of the oldest continuous parliament in the world (930AD), and our first view of the rift between the American and European continents. We head on to the Geysir Hot Spring area with its boiling mud pits and spouting hot springs. If the winds are right, you can let the falling water from the mighty geyser give you a good dousing. We make a stop at the famous Gullfoss (Golden Waterfall) before we head off the main road - straight north into the mountains toward Langjökull Glacier for a snowmobile tour, before we make our way back through the lush fields of the South West and through the Geothermal areas supplying Icelanders with hot water and electricity.

Slightly intimidating Viking Feast and overnight in downtown Reykjavik, where the party will be going on this Saturday night.

JULY 11

Healing Waters and Good-Bye!

We can finally sleep in, just a bit, before our coach picks us up for one last extremely Icelandic experience, the healing milky-blue waters of the Blue Lagoon. We'll take a good soak, get some refreshing drinks and relax, before we head back to the Airport and board our plane to the U.S.
