The silence is deafening. The mountains crash vertically into the ocean. Culture, wildlife and nature are unspoiled.
This is the perfect tour of Iceland's vast western peninsulas and west fjords.

DAY 1 - WEST-FJORDS, MAJESTIC SCENERY AND SERENITY

  • Early morning arrival in Iceland, your driver/guide will be waiting in the Arrival Hall at the airport (KEF) to start your adventure. 

  • You waste no time as you will head through Reykjavik to catch brief glimpse of the outskirts before heading along the west coast of Iceland with our first stop at Borgarnes, where Viking Chieftain Egill Skallagrimsson settled.

  • Next stop at Vatnshellir for a view of the amazing lava chambers underground. We will experience some of the amazing landscapes of Snaefellsnes and the Glacier Snaefellsjokull as well as Baejarfoss waterfall, the famous Kirkjufell Mountain (GOT) and to Stykkirsholmur in the mid-afternoon.

  • From there we grab an ferry across the Breidafjordur bay with it´s thousands of islands, stop at Flatey Island for a little walk around the island before ending up at Brjanslaekur on the southern shore of the West Fjords.

​DAY 2 -  WEST CAP

  • The group heads straight west to Europe's Westernmost point, Latrabjarg, or West Cap, known for amazing bird cliffs and vertical rock faces and a quick visit to the living museum there. On through the Southern Fjords to the Bridal Vail like falls at

  • Dynjandi before we end the day in the charming fishing village of Þingeyri.

  • Overnight at Sandafell Hotel. (B)


​DAY 3 -  ISAFJORDUR

  • Sugandafjordur is the last of the southern fjords we will see, know for rich fishing and hard weathers, and we will see evidence of both before we enter into Iceland’s longest tunnel, which leads us to the regions capital, Isafjordur. The views continue to change from fjord to fjord, each protected by taller and more vertical mountains than the next.

  • We will make our way thought Isafjordur to the village of Bolungarvik, where we stop at the Bolafjall viewing platform, which some say that can see Greenland from on a clear day. Check out the popular beach at Skalavik if time allows.

  • Overnight at Isafjordur (B)

    Day 4-AMAZING WILDLIFE

  • The ice carved fjords, and rough beaches are not only spectacular to behold, `but look closely and you are almost sure to see tens if not hundreds of seals, large and small hang our on the rocks by the ocean. The arctic fox although shy, can often be seen darting over the road and swans, eider ducks are commonplace. This area furthermore is a stronghold of the Golden Tailed Eagle and the Gyrfalcon, both the more common Icelandic subspecies “Islandicus“ and the occasional lighter colored “Candicans“ which is a common visitor from Greenland.

  • Make a brief stop at the Sorcerers museum on Holmavik, before ending the day at Laugarholl, where the local geothermal swimming pool and natural baths are open around the clock.

  • Overnight in Laugarholl or similar (B)

    Day 5 - GOLDEN CIRCLE

  • We are now nearing Borgarfjordur, and will take a detour to the National Park at Thingvellir, the world famous spouting hot springs of Geysir and the cascading majesty of the Golden Waterfall, Gullfoss before we end this tour of breathtaking arctic nature in Reykjavik.

  • Overnight Reykjavik Hotel or similar (B)

    Day 6 - Free day – extend or fly out

  • This last day your last morning in Reykjavik. A good time to explore the city, museums, churches, enjoy some of the great pastries and coffee houses, feed the ducks at Reykjavik centrum Lake Tjörnin or enjoy hand made chocolates at Omnom and do some last minute shopping. (B)
