ICELANDX
Multi-Day Super-Jeep Adventures

This is the ultimate travel experience for families and groups of all sizes, and the beauty is that however large the group, you always have the privacy of your own vehicle. In fact, you can start the trip right from the airport, or take a day or two to adjust before you start your expedition.

Icelanders modify their 4x4 vehicles with the aim of making rough highland routes and cruising on glaciers possible most of the year.

IcelandX offers a variety of chauffeured, self-driven but guided and self-guided trips. So, you can have the experience of driving these monsters yourself in Iceland’s rugged highland routes, or sit back and enjoy this unusual, but luxurious way of travel with one of our expert guides at the wheel.

2-DAY SUPER-TRUCK ADVENTURE TO THE ÞÓRSMÖRK VALLEY

Thorsmörk Valley and any glacier are probably the most popular destinations for Icelandic Super-Jeep enthusiasts. In this trip we combine both and in fact take you to the famous Eyjafjallajökull, a glacier that sits on top of a volcano, and yes, it’s the one who’s eruption disrupted all Trans-Atlantic flights for a while back in 2010. Þórsmörk Valley (often translated as Valley of Thor) is a hidden gems, reachable from Reykjavik on the first day.

Lucky for us, our modified vehicles can access the rough terrain getting there. The second day we make our way out of the Valley and head up to the glacier for some offroading challenges on ice and snow that we are pretty sure you have never before experienced.

2-DAY ADVENTURE TO LANDMANNALAUGAR
THE ICELANDIC HIGHLAND PARADISE WITH A WIDE VARIETY OF TRACKS, THROUGH BREATHTAKING MOUNTAIN RANGES

This two-day adventure gives you time and opportunity to create some unforgettable moments on the way to one of our absolute favorite places in Iceland, Landmannalaugar, the geothermal highland paradise.

The route there takes you on some of the lesser known gems of the valley’s and highlands of the south, including the 400ft tall Haifoss waterfall, the fissure Gjáin and Hjálparfoss waterfall. You will head “behind” the glaciers and mountains to the moonlike landscapes and then into the colorfall Landmannalaugar valley where we stay for the night.

If time allows we will also be visiting up close the volcano Hekla on the way back during out trek back to civilization and checking out the various off-road trails available.
