An 8:30am pick-up at your hotel in Reykjavik will start your tour. With your guide at the wheel, you will head North-East out of the bustle of Reykjavik, through the town of Mosfellsbær and turn off the main road to enjoy the drive though Hvalfjördur bay on a gravel road that does not see much use anymore. Over the mountains and into the geothermal valley of Borgarfjörður, where we stop at the breathtakingly beautiful Hraunfossar waterfalls before we grab a light lunch at Húsafell.
 

Ease the tire pressure as you start the traverse up to the ice tunnel in Europe’s 3rd largest glacier Langjökull, which also is the second biggest glacier in Iceland covering over 235,000 acres at almost 2,000 ft thickness where it’s thickest. Head to the foot of Langjökull and the super jeep confidently takes upon and over the glacier, close to its highest point, giving you an opportunity for some amazing panoramic view of the south-east corner of Iceland.
 

Along the way, make a stop to explore the Ice tunnel that has been dug into the ice. Being inside a glacier is an experience you are unlikely to forget. The blue lights filter through the ice making this place a bit eerie, and you can see evidence of how the glacier a glacier cracks and moves over the ground far below. Interestingly enough, the local farmers that built the ice cave made sure to add several gathering places, and a chapel as part of the architecture. That will make your visit to Iceland an unforgettable adventure.
 

On our way, back to Reykjavik, drive through Kaldidalur mountain valley one of the highest mountain roads in Iceland. Experiment a bit more super jeep mountain driving before arriving at Thingvellir National Park, home of the ancient Icelandic Viking parliament and UNESCO world heritage site. An indescribable nature with the biggest lake in Iceland. Take a little hike down ancient history lane before heading back to Reykjavík in the afternoon.
