Day 1 | ARRIVE IN ICELAND

An IcelandX driver will be waiting for you in the Arrival Hall at (KEF) airport.
Start the day with a dip at the World Famous Blue Lagoon. -
Grab a lunch and or stroll around the city until your room is ready.

Day 2 | THORSMORK - VIK

Now the Adventure really starts. Pick up the 4x4 trucks and head straight to the mountainous interior of the south. Leave the main road and take the mountain track, across rivers and sands into the beautiful oasis of Thorsmörk, see glaciers and hike slot canyons.

Visit the famous waterfalls of Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss, as well as look for puffins at Dyrholaey before reaching the hotel for the night.

​Day 3 | SOUTH ICELAND - LAKI VOLCANO

Leave Vik with a great view of Reynisdrangar volcanic pillars just off shoe. Push further East along the South shore of Iceland with an exciting trail ride through the lava fields to the craters at Laki Volcano. Laki is the site of the largest rift volcano in historic times.

Head to towards Europe’s largest glacier, Vatnajokull for an overnight sheltered by its southern edge.

Day 4 | EASTERN FJORDS

This day starts with an adventurous glacier lagoon tour on a Zodiac boat where you'll get close as possible to Europe’s Largest Glacier.

Check out the glimmering glacial chunks of ice on Diamond Beach.

Continue driving the South Shore and then turn north into the Eastern Fjords, known by their majestic mountains that cascade into the fjords, giving them a dramatic beauty.

Head inland into the Eastern Highlands and through Mountain Passes towards the town of Egilstaðir.

Day 5 | ASKJA & MYVATN

Possibly the longest and most adventurous day of the trip. Head into the completely uninhabitable Eastern Central Highlands, surrounded by Volcanic Desert, Mountains, Sands and Glacial Rivers.

Make use of 4x4 trails across the wilderness on the way to the famous volcanic crater at Askja.
-
Head on from Askja towards Mývatn, stopping by the oasis at Herdubreiðarlindir, named after the beautiful Table Mountain.

Continue towards the highway and civilization over unbridged glacial rivers and moonlike landscape to the oasis at Myvatn.

Day 6 | MYVATN - HUSAVIK - AKUREYRI

Start the day exploring lake Myvatns amazing geology. Lava flowed over the original lake thousands of years ago creating massive steam explosions, which left behind perfectly cone shaped craters.

A natural maze made entirely up of lava and other wild lava formations is what is left behind today. Furthermore, see some of its boiling mud pits, hot water springs, and hot water caves as well as some of the most varied bird life in Iceland.

Continue around the peninsula of Tjornes.

Visit the fishing village of Husavik, take a hike to Europe’s most powerful waterfall Dettifoss, and stop by the majestic Godafoss on our way to Akureyri the Capital of Northern Iceland.

Day 7 | Akureyri to Geysir

Drive to the old farmhouses at the old farm at Glaumbaer, before starting to traversing across the middle of Iceland.

Leave the main road for gravel and mountain trails and make your way straight south over the highlands.

Visit the geothermal oasis at Hveravellir hot spring area, before reaching the lowlands again at Gullfoss, the Golden Waterfall and the famous Geysir hot spring.

Day 8 | Geysir to Reykjavik

Head today to Lake Laugarvatn. Then, over the moor to Thingvellir, the original site of the ancient Viking parliament established in 930, making it the oldest surviving parliament in the world where you can literally walk across the rift between the European and American continents. The lake at Thingvellir is the largest natural lake in Iceland and home to a unique sub-species of trout that has been landlocked there for centuries.

Continue towards Reykjavik, drop off the Super-Jeeps and check into your hotel for your last night.

Day 9 | Reykjavik to Airport

Wake up in Reykjavik with some free time for a short roam around downtown before your Whale Watch in Reykjavik. This is your last stop before your transfer back to (KEF) the airport for your flight to the U.S.
