Dec 27  |  OVERNIGHT FLIGHT to Keflavik, Iceland

Dec 28  | ARRIVE IN ICELAND

• Early morning arrival in Reykjavik (Keflavik Airport). Our private bus will be waiting right outside to take the group to the domestic airport in Reykjavik. 

• Stop for a breakfast after your airport pick up while you wait for your flight up north to Akureyri.

• An Icelandair Domestic flight takes the group to Akureyri, the Capital of Northern Iceland, where you can check in to your Hotel in the heart of town and take a few hours to rest after our long travels.  Evening pick up by specially outfitted super-jeep 4x4’s for an adventure of off-road Northern Lights hunting, sledding and dinner. Late night arrival back at the hotel.

Dec 29  | AKUREYRI - MYVATN​

• We start the day heading out to explore the famous lake Myvatns amazing geology. Lava flowed over the original lake thousands of years ago creating massive steam explosions, which left behind perfectly cone shaped craters, caved in lava tubes and otherworldly rock formations.

• Experience Myvatns its boiling mud pits, hot water springs, and hot water caves on our visit.

• Take a dip in the Myvatn Nature Baths.

• Visit the majestic waterfall Godafoss on your way back to your hotel in Akureyri.

• Overnight at Hotel Kea or similar.

Dec 30  | SNOWMOBILE (EYJAFJALLAJOKULL) - LAVA CAVE

• We take an early morning flight back to Reykjavik, get into our Super-Truck and head out to the south shore of Iceland. 

• Snowmobile on the glacier Eyjafjallajokull and enjoy a scenic, fun ride, exploring and experiencing the wilderness and the breathtaking views over south Iceland.

• Visit one of the most magnificent Lava Caves of Iceland before returning to Reykjavik for the night. 

• Overnight at Hotel Reykjavik Saga or similar.

Dec 31 | REYKJAVIK

• Enjoy this day to roam around the City of Reykjavik. Enjoy the shops, restaurants and bars all within walking distance to your hotel.

• Dinner tonight will be within steps of the New Years firework displays where people gather at Hallgrimskirkja Church.

• The fun will be going on all night in downtown Reykjavik. 

• Overnight at Hotel Reykjavik Saga or similar. (B, D)

 

Jan 1 | GOLDEN CIRCLE 

• It wouldn't be a trip to Iceland without visiting the Golden Circle. Gullfoss, Geysir, Þingvellir National Park are included in the days exploration. The spouting hot spring Strokkur, massive waterfall at Gullfoss and the North Atlantic continent drift at  Þingvellir are must sees. Close the loop on this route around Iceland as you head back to Reykjavik.

Jan 2 | REYKJAVIK - KEFLAVIK

• Relax and Reminisce at The Blue Lagoon

• Shuttle to Keflavik Airport
