Flight from the U.S. overnight to Iceland. (Airfare not included)

DECEMBER 30TH
Early morning arrival in Reykjavik (Keflavik Airport). Our private bus will be waiting right outside to take us to the domestic airport in Reykjavik. Packed breakfast/brunch will be provided. Air Iceland Connect flight takes us to Akureyri, the Capital of Northern Iceland, where we will get lunch, check into Hotel Kea in the heart of town and take a few hours to rest after our long travels.

We will have specially outfitted super-jeep 4x4’s waiting for us at the hotel at 6pm for an off-road Northern Lights Expedition with an Icelandic dinner at an ancient turf-house. Late night arrival back at the hotel.

DECEMBER 31ST
After our 45-minute flight back to Reykjavik, we get back on our private bus and head to downtown Reykjavik for breakfast and explore the city until your check-in to the historic Hotel Borg Hotel, next to the Cathedral of Reykjavik and the Icelandic Parliament building. We’ll have a few hours to rest and dress your finest. Jacket and tie are required for men, Dress (short or long) are required for ladies. Bring warm clothes such as leggings, hat, scarf, and gloves for the bonfire tour and watching the fireworks from the observation deck). Ring in the new year Icelandic style!

Our private bus will pick us up at the hotel around 6pm and take us to Perlan, for our New Year’s Eve Party with 4-course Dinner with wine pairing and dancing to live music and DJ, champagne for toasting in the rotating restaurant in the middle of Reykjavik. The 360-degree view of the city through the buildings glass dome and observatory deck make for a spectacular display. At 1:00 am our bus will be ready to get us back downtown to Hotel Borg, where some may want to keep the party alive for a bit longer in the clubs and restaurants, while others may want to retire, as New Year’s Day is going to be another incredible day.

JANUARY 1ST

Ready for a 4x4 adventure? We certainly hope so as we will have a SuperTruck ready at 9:00am for a tour to the amazing interior valley of Thorsmork. We will visit the enormous lava tube Raufarholshellir as our first destination.

We then head along the flatlands of the south, until we turn off the road and the mountain track route takes us over snow and unbridged rivers to the natural jewel of Thorsmork.

We will hike into some of the canyons and see Seljalandsfoss waterfall before head back to Hotel Borg, where we will walk to one of the fantastic downtown restaurants for dinner.

JANUARY 2ND

Ready for more 4x4 fun?
Breakfast at the hotel then a 9:00am start as our modified Super-Jeeps are ready for us for a gorgeous sightseeing tour. First, Thingvellir National Park, the site of the ancient Viking Parliament, a walk on the continental rift that is slowly widening the gap between the North American and the European continents. On to the spouting geyser Strokkur at the geothermal Geysir area, where we will also have lunch. Then on to Gullfoss, the golden waterfall. Now we head into the deserted interior mountain and glacier region, with a visit to a Ice cave in Langjokull Glacier. We then return to the paved road towards the south shore and enjoy a view of the Icelandic countryside. We will look for opportunities to get a bit off road along the way (if possible).

Our afternoon will take us to the south coast, through the green house village of Hveragerdi and over the moor towards Reykjavik. We‘ll end our day enjoying a nice dinner in Reykjavik. We will stay back at Hotel Borg for the night.

JANUARY 3RD
Check out from Hotel Borg at 10:00. We have a private bus take us to the Blue Lagoon where we can relax in the warm geothermal water and plan the next spectacular adventure in Iceland. Head back to Keflavik Airport for our flights back to the U.S.

An initial deposit of $1,000 per person is due at booking. Full balance is due no later than 60 days before departure.
